an afternoon at La Maquinista

La Maquinista is a shopping centre located in the North East of Barcelona in the Sant Andreu district, a bit far from the city center, especially if you’re a tourist but it’s worth it if you spend more than a week in the city (and if you like shopping!).
It’s also one of the biggest malls in Catalonia so you can easily spend an entire afternoon there. It’s actually my favorite shopping centre with La Illa on the Diagonal Avenue!
I even loaded the app for Iphone with the complete list of stores you can find there, bars and restaurants, a map and the latest news and events!
It reminds me of these huge shopping malls I used to go when I lived in Florida because it’s an open-air mall (the only one in Barcelona).
Some facts : it’s a 3 levels complex with more than 230 stores from top designers (Adolfo Dominguez…) to ready-to-wear fashion such as Aldo shoes, Forever21 (the only store in Barcelona) Levi’s, GStar, Miss Sixty, Fnac, Apple store, Hollister (fashion from California, the store is worth the visit), Ripcurl etc a cinema, a Carrefour market, many restaurants etc.
I tried several items at Forever21 !
My favorite store at La Maquinista!
in love with this blue/red clutch! sold 15€ on sale
By the way would you like me to make a presentation of all the shopping malls in Barcelona? That could be cool, oh don’t worry I wouldn’t mind spending all my Saturdays taking photos and shopping for you guys! (really, I don’t mind) (I insist ahah!)

two cool cats

There are two cats on these photos, will you recognize the second one;)
Oh, and one of the last times you see a scarf here!
These photos were taken a few days ago as I was visiting a friend of mine in Barcelona (meet her cat “Nina”;) she accepted to take a few photos of my outfit on her balcony. It was freezing cold that day.
Luckily the weather is warmer now and I hope winter is completely over.

need sun!

To me February is the worst month of the year, stuck between January (too much food, always have to start a diet) and March (when nothing ever happens ;) and I’m cold. And I just hate winter. OK I stop complaining ;)
During these months like most of us I guess I’m in complete need of vacations and sun. All I need is exotic beaches with white sand, transparent water and coconut tree!I was also reading on Forbes Traveler that some of the most visited sites for the richest people (singers, politics, actors etc) are Antigua (Oprah Winfrey), Ibiza (Pinault) Tahiti and Cozumel (Paul Allen), Dominican Republic (Carlos Slim) etc.

But no need to be rich to have vacations under the sun. Where would I go if I could escape from winter right now? Well I would book a car hire in Menorca, visit the entire island and enjoy the beauty of its landscapes. Or I would rent a bungalow in Bora Bora (OK I would also need to earn a LOT of money) and relax, my feet in the water. Or maybe I would go back to Vietnam (I went there in 2005!) and stay a week in Nha Trang one of the most beautiful beaches of the country…enjoy the natural settings, the food, the markets, meet friendly people…that would be great…

Anyway, I have to go back to reality now !
What would be your perfect vacations to relax girls?

Happy Sunday!

zig zag

My new zig zag Jumper from Yuki Tokyo!
When I discover a new brand I usually start buying cheap stuff/sales just to make a test : the quality of the product, the delivery time, the size etc (then I make an excel sheet with graphics and statistics to compare all the e shops I’ve been to…ahaha, no seriously, I don’t do that. yet!)
Until now I can’t complain I’ve always been completely satisfied ! Plus I must say I like having something different than the usual H&M and Zara stuff you can find anywhere (like every 10 meters in Barcelona;) and even though I still like these brands I also became more and more interested in getting some more original clothes than you can’t find on everyone.
What about you, do you buy a lot on e-shops, anything to recommend?
Have a great week end!

Etsy finds

I’ve been knowing Etsy for a while now, it’s been in my “favorites” for a long time but I’d never bought anything until a few weeks ago.
I like the fact that the items are totally handmade, plus these are unique  things that you can’t find anywhere, and sometimes they come from far away (the little case from Thailand).
Some people are really gifted I must say (and I’m just not good at all with my hands so there’s no way you would see me selling something I made on Etsy ahah)
Anyway I had a big crush for this little accessories, do you like them?
What do you think about Etsy? anything cute to recommend?!
Purchase from “Noonew” : polka dot purse for Iphone
Purchase from “donnaelizabethdesign” : flower bouquet adjustable ring and Day of the dead Wrap around Bracelet
